Steve Lenczowski, 98 years old, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 23rd, 2017. He was born on October 30, 1918 in South Bend, IN to the late Josef and Mary Lenczowski.
He married Beverly Williams on January 22, 1944. She preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by baby daughter, Linda.
Left to cherish his memory are two children, James (Reg) Lenczowski of South Bend, IN and Mary Ann (Jerry) Papczynski of Buchanan, MI; and loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Steve was a profound patriot and proudly served our country during World War II in the United States Army, and was honorably discharged December 1, 1945. He was always contributing to veterans funds and flew his flag proudly.
His family was his number one priority. He was a hardworking man, who at times, worked two jobs to make sure there was a roof over our heads and food to eat. He never complained about anything, always there when you needed him, a little ornery, always smiling. He was a giving man even if it was his last dime. His gardening & his dog Buddy were his pride and joy, you could always find the two of them together working in the backyard. He was a man strong in his beliefs, a great father, and a man who will truly be missed, rest in peace Dad.
The family will hold a private celebration of his life at a later date.
