GOSHEN-Suzanne M. Odle, 77, passed away peacefully in her home within a short period after being diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer which she accepted with courage and grace. Born January 18, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Jerry and Addie (Dosmann) Canfield. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Donn Odle in 2021. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jessica (Michael) Spite of Fruitport, MI and John Michalski of Holly, MI, four brothers, Dave (Marge) of South Bend, Ted (Judy) of Carmel, IN, Bob (Tonda) Canfield of Mishawaka, and Brian (Deb) Canfield of Arcadia, IN; and sister, Beth (Scott) Robinett of Granger, IN. Sue was sunshine in human form. She always radiated with her smile, laughter, kind and generous disposition, and unconditional love for her children. Sue enjoyed taking photos and archiving them, decorating, music (especially fond of doo-wop), dancing, reading, and gatherings with her family and friends where raucous laughter could be heard throughout those gathering places. Sue was positive and believed in good, she was a romantic at heart and always liked a happy ending. Sue was also a die-hard Notre Dame football fan and recorded most games. In addition to her survivors listed above, Sue also had stepchildren; step grandchildren; step great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and friendships that spanned decades and those friends are considered family as well. To say Sue will be missed dearly is an understatement, words cannot describe how much she will be missed by her family and friends. As the mother of her two adopted children, this poem had a very special meaning to Sue: "Not Flesh of my Flesh, Nor Bone of my Bone, But Still Miraculously my own! Never forget for a Single Minute, You Didn't Grow Under my Heart, But in it!" A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 15 from 5-7 p.m. at the McGann Hay, Granger Chapel, enter off Cherry Rd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at Noon, at St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Goshen Health Foundation-Hospice Program. To send private condolences, please visit: http://www.mcgannhay.com/condolences.html
