Sylvia Irene Moyer passed away at the age of 95 on November 6, 2023. She was born in Central City, Kentucky on December 26, 1927 to the late Audie and Eulaylee (Hughs) Yates.
Sylvia worked her whole life as a switchboard operator. First at Indiana Bell, then Simpsons Lumber Yard and lastly at Notre Dame. She was also a member of the Pioneer Club sponsored by Indiana Bell.
Sylvia and her first husband, Bruce Wetzel owned a donut shop in Marion, Indiana.
Sylvia will be remembered by her daughter, Cynthia (Bob) Dixon; grandchildren: Denis Ewing, Beth Ann (James) Houston, Robert (Teri) Dixon, Laura (Geoff) Tweitmyer and Bryan (Chizuru) Dixon; great-grandchildren: Shiana (Shawn) Moist, Marisa Taylor (Lee Ware), Austin Taylor, JoAnna, Michelle, Cody, and Jordan Dixon, and Logan, Sydney and Bennett Tweitmyer; and great-great-grandchildren, Max Dixon, Winter Moist and Zakai Ware.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Katherine Sybert; granddaughter, Jennifer Taylor; great-grandson, Aaron Taylor; and siblings, Howard Yates and Jewel Beardon.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, November 20th at 11 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. at the McGann Hay, Granger Chapel, 13260 SR 23 (Enter off Cherry Rd) Granger, IN.
