Timothy S. Benson

SOUTH BEND – Timothy Stephen Benson, 65, passed away peacefully June 24, 2017.He was born in Mishawaka on December 19, 1951, to the late Maurice Junior and Dorothy Mae (Zolman) Benson.On December 20, 1975, Tim married the love of his life, Lauren Ann Stefaniak. She survives of South Bend. Also left to cherish his memory are two children: Nicholas R. Benson and Brandy L. Benson; granddaughter, Victoria Brant (18); and grandson, Andrew Wolford (10), all of South Bend; and two sisters: Sherry Little of South Bend and Donna (Bill) Rauch of Edwardsburg.Tim enjoyed having friends and family over for a pool date and a cookout. He was an avid gardener, and a fan of NASCAR, especially the recently retired Jeff Gordon. He was a forklift mechanic and was a former employee of TLS Industrial Trucks. He also enjoyed his time at John Deere, where he was in a managerial position. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2017, at 3:00 p.m., with visitation one prior at the McGann Hay, University Chapel, 2313 E. Edison Rd., South Bend, IN.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Diabetes Association.
