Vickie Kay Montel, 66, passed away peacefully in her home on June 9, 2017, with her family by her side.
She was born October 19, 1950 to the late Donald and Edwina (Thane) Clark. She was also preceded in death by daughter, Kimberly Sue Barnhart; two brothers, John and Paul Clark; two sisters, Judy Montel and Gladys Taylor; and a grandson, Jarad Barnhart.
On May 2, 1969, Vickie married the love of her life, Jonathan E. Montel. They were married for 48 wonderful years. She is survived by her husband, Jonathan; daughter, Edwina Montel of Mishawaka; five grandchildren, Breanna Laughman of Elkhart, Clayton Laughman of Mishawaka, Dayne Nordman of Jacksonville, NC, Ashley Hooten of Michigan city, and Donavon Barnhart ofMishawaka; nine great-grandchildren; three brothers, Dale, Lee and Ronald Clark; and two sisters, Linda Gamon and Blanch Hiller.
Vickie was a life member of the VFW Post 360, an active member at the American Legion Post 161 and was a past president at the Mishawaka Eagles Aerie 2083. She loved to garden, bake cookies and enjoyed camping with her husband. More than anything, she loved spending time playing with her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.
A celebration of life service will be held on July 1st from 2 to 5 p.m. at the American Legion Post 161 located at 133 E. Mishawaka Ave, Mishawaka IN, 46545.
