William “Bill” Hock, 85, died peacefully March 28, 2018.
William was born August 26, 1932 to the late Ernest and Anna (Pekofske) Hock.
On October 10, 1953, Bill married his high school sweetheart, Bernadette Heinerich. They had over 60 wonderful years of marriage. She survives him. Bill will also be greatly missed by his son, Daniel (Shannon Hiatt) Hock of Mishawaka, IN; sister, Angie Steininger of South Bend, IN; daughter-in-law, Sara (the late William) Hock of South Bend; sister-in-law, Evelyn (the late Charles) Hock of South Bend, IN; one grandson, Joshua Heppenheimer of Indianapolis, IN; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Preceding Bill in death were two beloved children: Brenda Marie Williams, and William Francis Hock; a sister, Sylvia Montague; and brother, Charles Hock.
Bill was the greatest of Elvis fans and loved Notre Dame. He was an usher at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart for over thirty years. Every time he visited the Grotto he would leave a flower. He had a great sense of humor and loved to tease everyone. Bill also enjoyed hunting for mushrooms in the spring, taking fishing trips with his wife, Bernadette, bowling and hanging out with his friends at the gym. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 4 at 11:00 a.m., at Little Flower Catholic Church, with visitation one hour prior in the church. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
