GRANGER-Willis C. “Butch” Bradshaw, Jr., 73, passed away June 17, 2023.
Butch was born April 10, 1950 in DuQuoin, IL, to the late Willis Sr. and Anita (Underwood) Bradshaw.
On August 4, 1984, Butch married Linda May Carter. She preceded him in death in 2013. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Thomas, and sister, Deborah.
Butch is survived by his loving children; daughter, Terra (Barry) Yakim of Dowagiac, MI; son, Casey (Brande) Bradshaw of Osceola, IN; stepdaughter, Terri (Jason) Thompson of Henderson, NV; stepson, John Shiers of Mishawaka, IN; and his companion, Cindy Martin of Granger, IN. Butch is also survived by his younger brother, Dick Bradshaw of New Carlisle, IN.
Butch, best known as “Grandpa”, took pride in his eight surviving grandchildren: Corey Kovatch of Dowagiac, Zachary, Caitlyn and Barry Yakim, Jr. all of Dowagiac, Samantha Shiers of Phoenix, AZ, Ian Dewey of Osceola, Army SFC Jacob Thompson of Raeford, NC, and Madison (Jeff) Wheadon of Boise, ID; and his five great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind a host of nephews, nieces, great neighbors, close friends, and fishing buddies.
Butch was the Captain and owner of SeaKing Sportfishing Charters for over 36 years. He was a loving and devoted family man and friend to many. He enjoyed hunting and fishing as evidenced by the number of animals he proudly trophied throughout his home. Butch belonged to the Edwardsburg Conservation Club and was a lifetime member of the NRA. Butch was a lover of music; mostly old country, loved to sing, play his guitar, and would be found on the dance floor after having a few beers. He loved beer!
Butch will be most remembered for being a “man’s man”. If you needed a hand, he would be there. If you needed to borrow anything, he had it. If there were fish to be caught, he would find them. He loved driving with his dog Roscoe, and online shopping on Facebook Marketplace.
We want to express our deepest appreciation to his significant other and companion, Cindy Martin, who tolerated his crazy antics, took exceptional care of Butch, and for the support she provided our family.
Per Butch’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Butch will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
