Our University Chapel location is conveniently located near the corner of Edison Rd. and Ironwood less than a mile from the Notre Dame campus. This location features the operational offices of McGann Hay Funeral Homes, American Cremation Society, McGann's Executive Limousine Service and McGann's Funeral Supply. We have a large chapel/viewing area here to accommodate even the largest of gatherings. Room to park hundreds of cars and a new back entrance to Ironwood across from McDonald's.
Directions
Our University Area Chapel is located at 2313 E. Edison Rd. South Bend, IN 46615 in the shadow of the Golden Dome.
Exit at the Notre Dame exit State Road 933 turn right (South). At the 4th stoplight (including the one immediately at the bottom of the exit ramp by the golf course and the black granite Notre Dame sign, turn left (east). That street is Angela. Eventually, Angela changes names and becomes Edison Rd. McGann Hay University Chapel (green sign says "McGann Funeral Home") is just past the 4th light on left. There is a CVS and a Walgreens on the corner at the 5th stoplight. McGann's is just past the light on the left, next to Heavenly Ham.
Do not take the bypass towards Michigan. Continue north on S.R. 933 (formerly US 31). Pass through the downtown area, and Memorial Hospital. Then, after crossing the river, continue up the hill. There will be a stoplight at top of the hill. This is Angela Blvd. (There is a big black granite Notre Dame sign, and a golf course on the far right hand corner). Turn right (east) onto Angela. Eventually, Angela changes names and becomes Edison Road. McGann Hay University Chapel (green sign says "McGann Funeral Home") is just past the 5th light on left. Go South on S.R. 933 (Michigan St. or Dixie Way or old US 31 N) to Angela Blvd. There is a big black Granite Notre Dame sign and golf course on near left corner. Turn Left or East. Angela turns into Edison Rd. McGann Hay University Chapel (sign still says McGann Funeral Home) is just past the 5th light on left. There is a CVS and a Walgreens on the corner at the 5th stoplight. McGann's is just past the light on the left, next to Heavenly Ham.
We are west of Grape Rd about 2 miles, just past the Post Office, but before the 3rd stop light (Ironwood) on the right next to Heavenly Ham.
